About Urs

The Urs festival is an annual festival held at Ajmer, Rajasthan, India which commemorates the anniversary of the death of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti (1143 – 1236) (founder of the Chishtiya Sufi order in India). This Sufi saint preached tolerance of all religions and gave a message of love. He was popularly known as ‘Khwaja Gharib Nawaz’ (Messiah of the poor).

The Urs Sharif of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hassan Chishty (R.A.) renowned as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A.), Ajmer will be held from 1st Rajab to 9th Rajab. May Allah bless you and your family with strength and ability to take part in this grand spiritual feast for your spiritual purification and to fulfill all your hearfelt desires.

If you are unable to attend this holy occassion personally, you may still take a part by making a donation in shape of Money Order, Cheque, Bank Draft etc.
